Once again the list comes through with nonsense. I play two different bass trumpets (MW C and Bach 188 Bb) so I speak from experience. The bass trumpet has a unique sound - somewhat mellow but focused, sort of like a flugel horn. In the upper register, it sounds almost like a trombone. Since I also play the euph, I find that the bass trumpet takes much more effort. It has more resistance and takes more concentration. You need a shallower mouthpiece than what you use on a euph. I use a Yamaha 51B on the Bach. The player will have to work with the instrument for some time to learn how to play it if he or she is in unfamiliar territory since it handles differently that the euph. Good luck.
