Joe's an incredible musician and teacher. He studied with both Arnold Jacobs and Ed Kleinhammer, and I'd venture to say that his musical knowlege, and ability to share his musical knowlege, paralelled that of his two teachers. He's played with the CSO before, and played with a Florida Orchestra for about 10 years, I believe. His girlfriend (Susan Smith) is second trombone in the Nashville Symphony.. also a great musician! I was fortunate enough to have studied with Joe last summer, and am still benefitting from what he taught me. If you have an opportunity to study with him, by all means DO! He was only charging $25 an hour last summer, which is probably the best deal you'll find anywhere. I found his teaching style to be very simillar to Roger Bobo's. Good luck!
