I have a Yorkbrunner, not one of those new "Grand Orchestral" they sell now. I haven't played any other horn that I would trade my 6/4 for. I've played two Nirschl's, a Grand Orchestral and another Yorkbrunner. They all played a lot different. I asked Peter Hirshbrunner about this and he told me that because the first chunk of Yorkbrunner's were hand made they all played differently. It took me a while to get used to my horn but now that I can get around it I wouldn't give it up for anything! Find any horn you like and enjoy! There's nothing nothing worse than always wondering whether or not your horn is doing the right job.
