Usually with Bach, the designation of "A" (in a choice of A - E) when it appears after the first (rim width) # is an indication of (deepest) cup depth.
My recollection is that a 24AW is deeper but narrower than an 18, internally.
(The "W" would refer to the W-ide rim on the 24AW.)
