Easy big fella, easy there. The Minnesota orchestra's Tubist is known to be a BBb player; he has appeared in articles about the use of BBb for orchestral playing. And the poster above didn't say BBb and CC don't sound different. He said that if you put 100 professional musicians blindfolded in a room, they couldn't tell the difference. I think that is a valid premiss. If I had time to gather my recordings, I could put together a list of recordings being played on different tubas and would defy you to name the pitch of the horn. Start with "Bill Bell and His Tuba" and tell us which horn he is using. I don't know why my HB4C should play any differently from an HP2. Do you?
