Willson repair advice

The first valve on my Willson EEflat (3+1 top action piston) sticks with any pressure on the slide (such as my left arm reaching for the 4th valve). The slide is obviously pushing into the valve casing. Cleaning and oiling have no effect. Is this a metal fatigue issue? Is it easily fixed? The joints, etc look fine.

I intend taking the horn to a repairer as soon as I can bear to be without it for a while, but I thought I'd like to go to the shop prepared with a little information.

Thanks in advance,

Ian Easton
