My son plays tuba. He is now in 7th grade, and last year we purchased a tuba from David Fedderly at the Baltimore Brass. Mr. Fedderly was most helpful & kind and my link to this site where I have learned quite a bit about the instrument of my son's choice. As you may guess, I am/was a flute player, and knew nothing about brass instruments. Now my daughter is in 6th grade and has chosen to play the oboe. The band teacher last year was very eager to have an oboe player in the band. Unfortunately, she quit at the end of the year. The new director is physically incapable of playing oboe, tested out of that requirement on another instrument, and thus cannot give my daughter much assistance. He has been trying to arrange lessons with the local college, but so far this hasn't happened. Is there a site like this for oboe players? I have searched Yahoo but so fasr have found nothing. Thanks for any help.
