The Apollo F is one of the best sounding F tubas that I have ever played. It is and enormous F tuba but with a very clear and centered sound. The two examples that I played both had terrible pitch problems, particularly in the upper register. It seems that the pitch problem is a characteristic common to this tuba and probably the reason it hasn't really caught on.
