I'll take a stab at answering this. First, let me tell you that an available gig is to a tuba player something like the secret of a magic trick to a magician. If you want someone to list all the upcoming events for which tuba players will be hired, forget it.

Now, with that said, your best bet is to get yourself known. This is only of value if the people who come to know you will be impressed. You can do this by playing anywhere and everywhere a tubist is needed, by taking a few lessons with different pros in the area, by initially volunteering your services to anyone and everyone just so you can be heard.

Note that if there were enough work to keep large numbers of tubists employed at a livable wage, I and many of this list's other posters would quit our day jobs. Good luck!!
