It's my understanding that VMI/B&S is using Nirschl piston sets in their tubas -- that's what's in my 3302. Very, very consistent, in my case.
But, previous versions had other piston sets, and they did have occasional problems with consistency. Someone with a better understanding of that history should help asnwer this one.
