Good post, Matt, even if you didn't like to march.. :-)

Along with, "Can you afford to stay a little longer?", I would ask, "Can you afford to _not_ stay a little longer?" Would it really be best for your overall musicianship experience to haul out of school in record time? Of course, I shouldn't be the one to be asked about staying longer... hee hee... :)

Also, about "If someone asks SHOULD I get into music?" --

The key word here really is "asks". If someone even has to ask that question, the answer is, as Matt said, NO. It's like what they used to say about the price of a Rolls-Royce: "If you have to ask, you can't afford it." If you have to ask about making a career out of music, you won't have the confidence or drive that it takes. To make it in music there should be no doubt that it is what you want to do. "Well, what about..?" No, don't even ask. KNOW that you want to do it. Let there be no doubt.

Do! Or do not. There is no try.
:)

Seeya,
Leland
