you better be a pretty damn good player to pull it off
the best on i have seen was black laquer over a silver horn with the ferrels and in side the bell showing the silver...and gold accents on the valve caps buttons ...
like a kielworth saxaphone...
i cant imagine the laquerer being better or worse than clear or gold laquer...just paint..
