I'll be interested to see how this turns out- think you'll have a great horn! Concerning Chuck Jackson's
posting, I cut a Conn 15J from the 19-teen's and grafted in a M.W. 2165 valve section. As you stated, I removed the most from the 'front-end' of the horn, and the intonation is great. I built a trombone-style main tuning slide, where the steps are in the same direction, and it made a vast difference in the sound and response. Good Luck!
