or a 983? I always used a 3/4 Rudy CC. The Alex F I had just didn't do it for the quintet, although it was a great solo horn. They wanted more "tuba sound". I once tried my Kurath 5/4 CC just for fun (in the spirit of Chicago) but the Rudy was certainly the best overall. Find what works for your group and play that instrument.
