That sounds just like Ted Cox's Alex.
Only a very few of the CC 163s were made totally out of nickel silver, due to the physical difficulty it presented the technician when making a bottom bow and bell. (Nickel silver is harder, hence its use as a guard and slide leg material) From what I hear (hearsay, remember) only four or five of those were ever made, and that the boss had to "bribe" the employee to agree to make the instrument each time (a pricey bottle of champaign or wine i think).
