The 2000 that I played was a wonderful tuba--unlike the 2155 and unlike any other generally available 5/4 piston C I've ever tooted on. It has a warmth and a responsiveness that I think marks the best tubas.

Ron Bishop playes a 2000, apparently (this is hearsay) to get an instrument that would more easily achieve the desired effect compared to his previous instrument. Of course, just because it works for him doesn't mean it will work for you.
