I just got a cool but slightly strange ECM disc that features John Surman (saxes and bass clarinet), Jack De Johnette (drums and piano), and the London Brass. Typical of ECM, this is kind of a legit/jazz mix. Owen Slade is the tubaist. There's a group photo that shows him playing a ubiquitous Besson 3 + 1 style Eb tuba. This one looks like it has the bigger 19" bell, but I'm just guessing. Anyway, he gets featured in a cadenza on the 4th cut: "Back and Forth".
