Titanium is a lot more tricky to weld than steel or softer metals like brass, and still get a good weld. The best welds are obtained when you use a gas shielding technique, like Gas-Metal Arc (GMA) or Gas-Tungsten Arc (GTA) welding (note that these do have other names, do a Google search for GMA or GTA). Be careful of "soft" welds or other ways to adhere to titanium, they are often not very stable and can break off. You can braze titanium, but it is usually done in a furnace, under synthetic atmospheres. I would not try "torch" brazing or soldering with this fairly exotic metal.

Let us know how the titanium tuba project goes!!
