I'm not trying to discredit the abilities of these players, as I'm sure they're very talented, but if one saw the preliminary list of (semi?) finalists, there were only two or three competitors for any of the tuba competitions. This is hardly a substantial victory, and it's a shame the prize pool was not enough to attract talent from other areas.
