Hi, everybody,
guess here are lots of experts and bass brass lovers around, so this seems to be the place to ask for help.
I recently purchased this old Bb helicon pictured below via ebay. It is truly a lightweight model ,app. 6.5 kg. Very easy blowing and responding directly, the sound is focussed and I am satisfied with it, except the horn seems to be sharp in tune. As is shown in the pics, the leadpipe meets the 3rd valve behind the (too ?)short main tuning slide. I want to have our repair shop doing a valve job, maybe this helps fixing the tuning problem a little, has to be done anyway. Well, I am wondering, if someone altered the leadpipe construction and so I am looking for somebody knowing this model and its possible original mouthpipe configuration. Made by " Weltklang ", donīt know, how old it is. Tried sousie tuning bits, but I dislike them making the sound more edgy .

Any help will be appreciated gladly - and thanks for stopping by,
JohnD
