I find them to be very good entry level to intermediate tubas. Jupiter has had a reputation for shoddy quality, but their instruments have been improving and the 582 is one of their best. The fit and finish might not be as good as on some tubas, but it is usually acceptable. They are usually priced right around $3000, a little more for silver plate and a little less for lacquer. It is one of the few 4 valve front action piston horns that can be had new for less than $3000. The ergonomics may not be work for someone who is shorter or has shorter fingers because the leadpipe is a little high and the valves are a little further away than on some horns. Still I found it to be a very good horn, especially for the money.
