When Bud Herseth got the Principle Trumpet job at the time he really had NO experience, he was young, and came out of nowhere. Times were different then. The CSO is always looking for the next Bud on any of its instruments, thats probably why they keep the door so wide open on auditions. Im not sure how correct this story is, but thats how it was realyed to me. RAISING SHIELDS, let the flamming commence!
