I use my Besson BE 982 (silver) for everything. Solo rep, quintet, Brass Band, and orchestral rep as well! I just did Berlioz's Symphony Fantastique on Eb, and the Dies Irae worked splendidly. Also, being involved with the Salvation Army band, I can also use it at church services. I also have a 6/4 CC VMI 5198 'Mel Culbertson' for the BIG orchestral jobs. Suffice to say that I do use the Eb way more than the CC. I would also stay away from the Willson, unless you really enjoy carrying around a horn that weighs the same as a MACK truck! The Besson sound is also sweeter.

If you ever doubt the sound quality of the Besson Eb, just listen to people playing it such as John Fletcher and Patrick Sheridan.

I am actually looking to sell me Eb, which has the 3+1 valve system, in order to purchase the new BE 983, which has the 4 front pistons. I am looking to sell within $4000. Let me know if you are interested.
