EMI Classics has done the initial release of a new series of DVDs of archival classical music performances. The orchestral offering in this first release features BBC TV performances from the 60s and 70s featuring Leopold Stokowski and the London Symphony. Only a single work with tuba, but it's Meistersinger Prelude and John Fletcher can be seen clearly, playing his Holton BAT. And he plays it very beautifully too. This is the only video of Fletcher currently available that I know of. The rest of the DVD contains Stoky doing Beethoven 5th, Schubert Unfinished, Debussy Afternoon of a Faun, and as a bonus, Sorcerer's Apprentice by the LSO under Pierre Monteux. Fletcher would be the draw for most readers, but all of this stuff is worth having.
