Greetings all,
Just a brief note to especially let the British readers of this BBS know that the Sotto Voce Tuba Quartet (Demondrae Thurman & Patrick Schulz, euphoniums and Nat McIntosh ("The Warrior") and myself, tubas) will be giving concerts in a few venues in England next week. We're being hosted by my good friends in the Tubalaté Tuba Quartet. We even intend to play a few octets together (Tubular Octad (Tull), Furies (Corwell), Antiphonal Suite (Gabrieli), etc.). We're also going to begin discussing some recording/symphosium ideas among our two quartets. Here are some venues in which you may hear us if you're interested.
Monday 12th May
7.30pm Performance at Mellor Church in Manchester, England
Wednesday 14th May
10.00am - 12.30pm Rehearsal (Tubalaté & SV) at Royal Northern College of Music (Octet rep.)
1.30pm - 3.30pm Class with Adam Gorb and RNCM Composition students
TBC Radio interview (SV) on BBC GMR
8.00pm Rehearsal with Dobcross Band
Thursday 15th May
1.10pm - 3.30pm 2 performances of 50 mins (SV)
at Merchant Taylors School, Crosby.
7.30pm Joint concert at Flixton House
Friday 16th May
1.30pm - 3.00pm Class/Performance at LIPA (Liverpool)
