Find an inflatable rubber ball and use it to seal off the bell. Attach a hose to the mouthpiece receiver (hose clamps can come in handy) and connect the other end to city gas or, if unavailable, a tank of propane. Turn the gas on and wait for about a half hour for the gas to displace the air in the horn. Then, using an ordinary kitchen match, inspect the water keys, soldered tubing joints and valves for leaks.

NOT!
