I was overwhelmed initially by all the e-mails and calls I got to help me with the investigation. Now I find myself overwhelmed by your rush to thank me for just doing my job. I must say I really felt emotionally moved this morning when I came to work to find so many "thank you" notes. Even one from the son of a New York cop (that one will go in my scrapbook). Lastly, I find myself overwhelemed by the passion you all have for your field. I have a new appreciation for your music...I guess I couldn't understand your initial defense of the man I arrested in this case, but now I do. Your passion is inspirational!
You probably won't hear from me again on this...unless some new evidence surfaces and I need your help again. However, I have run into those cops who don't want to help too....and I want to make you a promise. If any of you are ever a victim of a crime and need my help...you know where to find me. I can't promise miracles...but I can do my best to help each of you.
