There is an emailed discussion list for trombonists. Many distinguished and not-as-distinuished-but-knowledgable trombonists subscribe (plus a few js-type know-it-alls) ;^)
I apologize for not knowing quite how to subscribe, but I think it might be hosted by the University of Missouri.
In addition, as busy as is Doug Yeo, bass trombonist, Boston Symphony Orchestra, he always seems to try an answer emails sent to him with musical questions.
