I completely agree with you.
I guess I was really just publicly bemoaning the low level of interest in cultural events vs. sporting events, in our country.
You are right about the ability of filling the stadium (hall), being the key. I think that the orchestras that pay the most, are the ones that have the most successful track record of filling the hall.
