There is nothing that can be done. It is a non-tenure track position. Not saying what happened to Ted was morally right, but it was unquestionably legal. Arnold Jacobs could have been fired with no justification from this position.
MORAL OF THE STORY: be aware of what can happen to you if you are non-tenured, and consider it when accepting a job.
