Reagan and Bush #1 could possibly have made good leaders, but their tragic naiveté led them both to believe they could make deals with Demo's that would be honored. Oh yeah, Bush #1 (Didn't he play the tuba, or was it the euphonium?) didn't "compromise". He "caved".
