I just ordered one off of that auction site in clear to see if it would be a decent tool for "visualization" of the embouchure.
I figured the risk was worth it considering the price. If the person making these has a semi-decent CDC lathe then they should be as consistent as any other brass mouthpiece. For cold weather climates they would be as good as any other plastic component moutpiece.
Another marketing idea is to target the "young'ns" as they tend to be pretty harsh on mouthpieces by dropping them, stepping on them, etc. Plus they come in some appealing colors also.
I'll practice my scales so that I can give a qualified review of the item. :'>
