I too am a doubler, a serious bass trombonist for 25 years, who has in the past five years begun to take my tuba playing seriously. I use a Doug Elliott 116 M 9 on my bass trombone (FYI - a big tank - kind of a wide 1G/60 thing) and have had really good success using the Dillon G series mouthpieces (F1 on my F, G2B on 3/4 CC and G3B on my 4/4 CC and BBb). Think rim first, making sure it is comfortable and then find the cup that gives the sound you need.
