When I switched mpcs with my 20.5 mm (0.81 caliber) 5/4 CC, the smaller one opened up my range by more than 1/2 octave on each end, gave more centered tone, and made playing easier all the way around. The sound improved greatly, too. SHOP AROUND before you make any impulse purchases. It is important that you find a mouthpiece that works for you and your horn. You may be able to borrow ones from other folks.
