Listing it along with your other possessions isn't the same thing as scheduling it. If you schedule it separately, you pay and extra premium on that coverage, and it protects all non-commercial use against any loss. And homeowner's insurance will cover items in your car. I once was covered when some cameras were stolen out of a friend's car, and they were not scheduled.

Some items can't be scheduled, including computers, cash, and a few other items, and this varies depending on the company. I had to support my stated values with appraisals or price lists.
