Hi,
I had a DEG rest for a few years until the thing rusted and the threads for the screws got way too worn down. So I went to a local percussion pro and fitted the head to a 5 pound snare drum stand base (Pearl). It works really great too. Heavier equipment and denser material makes for more reverberent sound. I know someone who fitted a head to a thirty pound cymbal stand and uses it at work in the orchestra all the time. His colleagues said they can feel the sound while sitting backstage.
Thanks,
Aubrey
