This has been a problem since day one. The 1241, old 2341 and the new 2341 all have this problem. I usually tip the horn to the left as this is the fasted way - important when in the middle of a piece. If I have time, I'll give the horn the old "tuba twirl" and drain it out of the bell. I love my King, but this IS a nuisance. For all I know the old 4 valve sousaphones had the same problem.

BTW, I added a water key to the 3rd valve slide. And if any of you 1241 or 1240 owners read this, before I replaced the 3rd valve tubing, I had also added ANOTHER water key on the goofy extra loop (probably left over from the sousaphone version of the valve configuration) at the top of the 3rd valve tubing as that is another good water collector. My GUESS is that if the bore were larger this would not be such a problem - that is more water could accumulate before you noticed, but since this is a small bore horn, it doesn't take a lot to start the gurgle sound.
