If you have at least 43 college hours you will start out as a E-3.
Most of the people that win an AF bands audition have at least 2 years of college.
The program is looking for players, there are some high grads in the system, but they are performing at a college level.
If you start out as an E-3, you will put on E-4 in 28 months.
