I don't know if I can answer your question or not. I have tried several horns in the past and my comparison will be between the pt-6 and the willson 3050. The horns are both 5/4 but the pt-6 has a bore or .748-.827 and the willson has a bore of .800-.870. That is not a huge difference but the valves on the pt-6 seemed to have a longer stroke than the Willson with the bigger bore. I think maybe the modern piston valves are being made bigger around which allows them to have a shorter stroke. Just my observation though.
