Salvationist Publishing & Supplies made instruments labeled "Salvation Army" between 1889 and 1950 for use by Salvation Army bands. They are listed as having factories in London and in St. Albans, but I see no record of any plant in Birmingham. They were known for making good quality instruments for the most part.

Bore is usually measured as the inner diameter of the second valve slide. These small mouthpiece receivers were common on early instruments and on some British made instruments up until recently. I have had some that had very small receivers but reasonably sized bore.
