My review of brass pieces

As mentioned in the post below, I'm currently reviewing recommended repertoire (for advanced students of all brass instruments). I'm doing this on behalf of my employer (School of Instrumental Music) and with the help of my peers, but would like to ask further advice.

In a review of a piece, what information would you like? Apart from the obvious (title, composer, publisher) I'm currently including range, style, approximate level of difficulty and comments. These comments could address the specific concerns or requirements of the piece, such as "requires high range stamina", "fast tonguing required" or even "has a difficult piano accompaniment".

I'm doing the reviews in a spreadsheet format, so comments and other field entries would need to be short.

Any column headings you can think of that could be used to assist the student (and teacher) to choose appropriate repertoire is welcome.

This will all be put on our official site: I'll let you know when it's up.

Thanks in advance,

Ian Easton
