There is a company that makes a stand similar to the DEG stand for use while standing with a tuba. The problem is that I don't know any of the details. I saw one on the German Brass Goes Bach DVD (avail. on Amazon) with Walter Hilgers. It seemed quite well made (there were no close-ups) and functional.
Well, I guess I can't answer your question at all. All that I can tell you is that they do exist...at least one person in Germany has one! Perhaps the add-ons for the DEG stand would work.
