The Cincinnati College-Conservatory may not be well known as a place to study euphonium, but it should be. Tim Northcut is a great euphonium teacher and the school offers extensive performance experience in the two wind emsembles. In my four years here, I have played over half of the pieces asked on the marine band audition plus many others which are standard euphonium works. I have also played extensively in the EXCELLENT brass choir, conducted by Prof. Northcut as well as even getting an opportunity to play with the orchestra. It is easy to think conservatory and pass up CCM as a euphonium graduate school, but this is a mistake. Especially considering the copious availible scholarship awards to graduate students, CCM is definitely worth checking out. Email me if you have questions.
