Protocol, tradition, musicians unions, to make it look like a "fair" and "equitable" process. Law suits??

You can't please everyone all the time, so regardless what method is used, there will always be winging and complaining. Maybe keeping the traditional audition process is a plan to keep everything seemingly normal while the skullduggery works in the background.

I was told by a tuba playing friend who spent some time in the UK, that they still use auditions but still only take the person that they want. They tell this person to make a deliberate slip up at a certain point in theaudition, so they know it is him/her.

True/false, have I started anything? I'll leave this up to you. Just remember, it's now what you know, it's who you know in this big world of life.
