Award winning composer, Sy Brandon, has composed two duets for oboe and tuba.

Serenade (1979) is in three continuous sections. The first is a moderate triple meter with occasional meter shifts. The second is a slow 4/4 while the third is an allegro duple meter with diversions to a triple meter feel. This piece has wandering tonality yet is lyrical. Duration: 7:00 Grade 4.

Summer Suite (1987) is a four movement work consisting of "Rain Dance", "Garden Serenade", "Harvest Dance" and "Celebration Dance". The movements explore a free use of the twelve tones around a changing tonal center and have interesting counterpoint and rhythm. Duration 8:00 Grade 4.
