Dear Tuba/Euph Friends -
For those of you in the Washington, D.C./Baltimore
metropolitan area looking for something fun to do this
coming Friday night, 01 June 2001, check out the
concert info below...
The award winning Spires Brass Band, winners of the
Challenge Section at the recent North American Brass
Band Association Championships, presents "An American
Salute" this coming Friday night, 01 June 2001, at
8:00 p.m. in Kussmaul Theater at Frederick Community
College in Frederick, Maryland.
Featured band member soloists include Laura
Lineberger, euphonium (and member of the U.S. Army
Band), performing "Nautical Variations", originally
arranged for Roger Behrend and the U.S. Navy Band.
Yours truly will also be coming out at the end to play
the piccolo solo from "Stars and Stripes Forever" on
Eb tuba.
Aside from myself and Laura in the tuba/euph section,
Luke Spiros, solo euphonium with the U.S. Marine Band
for 20 + years, is also a member of the band. It's a
pretty fun tuba/euph section.
Tickets, available at the door, are $8.00 for adults,
$5.00 for seniors and students.
