I have played on an old Rudy-Meinl F-tuba at Dillon's booth at the 1999 (I think) Army Tuba Conference. It seemed to slot the lower notes better than most F-tubas, esp. better than the B&S F-tuba, although they both had nice sounds, the Rudy seemed a little warmer in tone and slotted better pitch-wise and response-wise.
