Try not to get hooked on any of those remedies. Is it possible that you're practicing too much? An incredible amount of progress can be made in 90 well-channeled minutes of serious work. Try not to get too hung up in some long, drawn-out ritualistic warm-up, etc. If the skin on the outside of your embouchure becomes inflamed, try hydrocortisone cream and a day or two away from the tuba.
Obviously I don't know you and I apologize if my advise is offbase.
