Well, (like the UMI/Conn 56 before it).....theres a lot more anticipation about the new King than can be supported by availability just yet. If you want a small, American-style horn and are willing to wait, the "new King" may be worth sampling when you have several to chose from. But first production has to start and they have to be readily available to do that. In the meantime, just see if you can buy one of the two or three sample horns floating around for the rumored price of (only) 3 g's!....
The Cerveny/Mirafone/Euro horns are bigger, play different, and may be more versatile for an all-round community player-type application....plus they are available now! Tony Clements at Low Brass Werks (see the dealer's page on this BBS for link) has a couple of very nice NEW Alexander BBflats also, and for the cadillac-sound that these produce you cannot go wrong for 5 grand! b.t.w. Low Brass Werks has in stock at least a couple each of the Mirafones, Meinl 25's, and Alexanders for comparison playing....give him a call if you like!
