Besides the fact that beta blockers are Rx drugs, talk with your MD about this situation. He/She can prescribe what is appropriate and also (better yet) refer you to a specialist who can better serve you in the long run. Careful with the beta agonists - if you take more than is needed, your pulse can drop like a rock (with you soon to follow).

Be careful with vicadin or any benzo's, they will truly screw up your performance, as they take your mental "edge" away with the panic.

Perhaps stress management techniques, like those metioned in the books by Dr. Herbert Benson, might work for you. If you could redirect that energy, think of how much more focused your playing could be!

In any case, try whatever method you may FIRST in a "safe" but panic inducing situation (is there such a thing?) so that if you find that the "cure" is worse than the problem, you can bail. Not a good thing to start on your solo tour.

Best of luck!
